As of June 2025, George Ibbotson (Steels) Ltd are proud to announce a partnership with Alleima Steels (Sandvik).

As well as our traditional range of steel, such as 420 & 301 Stainless, our extensive range of C70, C75S, CS80, CS95 and 1% in the hardened and tempered condition and Mild Steel C4 and Piano Wire,

Product Details

12R11

Alleima® 12R11 is an austenitic stainless, general purpose steel with good spring properties that in most cases fulfill demands regarding corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, fatigue and relaxation properties.

11R51

Alleima® 11R51 is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent spring properties that in most cases fulfill demands regarding corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, fatigue and relaxation properties. Compared with the standard grade Alleima® 12R11, Alleima® 11R51 offers:

• Higher tensile strength and tempering effect
• Higher relaxation resistance, especially at elevated temperatures
• Higher fatigue strength
• Better corrosion resistance, due to the addition of molybdenum

13RM19

Alleima® 13RM19 is a stainless spring steel combining high mechanical strength with a non-magnetic structure. Corrosion resistance is comparable to ASTM 301. It also possesses good fatigue properties and excellent ductility, making it suitable for springs and other high-strength applications where ferromagnetic materials cannot be used.

9RU10

Alleima® 9RU10 is a precipitation hardening, austenitic stainless steel of the 17Cr-7Ni PH type, characterized by:

• High tempering effect, up to 400 MPa
• Low relaxation at high stresses and elevated temperatures
• Higher fatigue strength
• Very small distortion during tempering
• High service temperatures

Service temperature: up to 350°C (660°F). Suitable for complex, formed springs with high demands on spring force and service life, including use at elevated temperatures.

Nanoflex™

Nanoflex™ is a precipitation hardening, austenitic stainless steel specifically designed for applications requiring high strength and good ductility. It is characterized by:

• Very high tensile strength with good ductility
• Very high ageing effect
• Hardenable by heat treatment from the annealed condition
• No softening after exposure to temperatures up to 450°C (842°F)
• Good weldability

12C27

Alleima® 12C27 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel optimized for high quality professional knife applications. Properties include:

• Very high hardness
• Good corrosion resistance
• Very high wear resistance

Typical applications: hunting and fishing knives, pocket knives, skate blades, and ice drills.

19C27

Alleima® 19C27 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel with high carbon content. After heat treatment, it is characterized by:

• Very high hardness
• Very good wear resistance

Mainly used for industrial knives for cutting synthetic fibre, paper, and plastic films.

14C28N

Alleima® 14C28N is a martensitic stainless chromium steel for professional knife applications, offering:

• Excellent edge performance
• Very high hardness
• Good corrosion resistance

Recommended for knives requiring high edge sharpness, edge stability, and corrosion resistance, such as pocket knives, chefs knives, hunting knives, and fishing knives.

13C26

Alleima® 13C26 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel characterized by:

• Very high hardness
• Good corrosion resistance
• Very good wear resistance

Mainly used for razor blades, surgical knives, and industrial knives for food processing.

10C28Mo2

Alleima® 10C28Mo2 is a martensitic stainless chromium steel developed for razor blade and knife applications requiring high corrosion resistance. It offers:

• Very good corrosion resistance
• High hardness for good wear resistance
• Good toughness

Typical applications: kitchen knives, butcher knives, outdoor knives, medical blades, and razor blades with high corrosion and toughness requirements.

Damax™

Damax™ Damascus steel is a multilayered steel made of 7C27MO2 and 19C27 grades. It is characterized by:

• Layered structure with aesthetic design possibilities
• Very high hardness
• Good corrosion resistance

10C16Mo3V1

Alleima® 10C16Mo3V1 is an 8% chromium steel known for good wear resistance and toughness. Suitable for tools and knives in demanding applications, such as garden tools and harvest knives.

20C Hardened and Tempered Carbon Spring Steel

Alleima® 20C is a hardened and tempered carbon steel characterized by:

• High strength
• High fatigue strength under bending and impact stress
• Low level of non-metallic inclusions
• Good wear resistance

Compressor valve steel in Alleima® 20C has excellent surface finish, good dimensional tolerances, and good flatness.
